Our church (All Saints' Church, The Street, Hacheston: postcode IP13 0DN for sat-navs) is a lovely Grade 1 listed building, set back from the main road on a gentle incline, at the southern end of the village. The building is originally C12, but is mainly C14 with a C15 hammer-beam nave roof. The south aisle is late C15.
Significant recent events include the lead being stolen twice from the south aisle roof, leading to the organ being damaged beyond economic repair (in part due to the ingress of water) and the church being closed for some time due to the threatened collapse of part of the nave roof. But all of this is now behind us - today things are much happier with a wonderful organ kindly gifted to us now in situ, maintenance work completed securing the nave roof and church foundations, and a loyal and enthusiastic congregation of around 10-15 local residents.
