Hacheston Remembers
On the afternoon of Remembrance Sunday, November 11th, from 2 - 5pm, there will be a display of material relating to Hacheston and the Great War, including the men and women who served, the 22 Hacheston 'boys' who gave their lives for their Country, together with medals and other memorabilia, information on the First World War use of tanks, horses, dogs and pigeons, Flora Sandes (the only known woman to have actually fought in the front line) who has a Hacheston connection and other information. The church will be manned during this time to show you the information we currently have. Please come and pay us a visit, especially if you are related to any of those who served or were killed, have information you can add to what we already hold about Hacheston and its role in the war, or have any memorabilia or information on any of your family members, irrespective of where they lived. There will be a souvenir booklet available to accompany the displays.
